Growth & Development
Every baby develops at their own pace. Explore what to expect during each stage of your little one's journey.
Newborn
The first month is a period of rapid adjustment for both baby and parents. Your baby is learning to live outside the womb and starting to communicate their needs through cries and subtle body language.
Early Infancy
During this stage, babies become more aware of their surroundings and start to show their personality through the first precious smiles and babbles.
Discovery Phase
Babies are becoming more active and may start to roll over and reach for toys. They are intensely curious about everything and explore the world with their hands and mouths.
On the Move
This is a major transition period as many babies start to crawl, sit up without support, and develop the fine motor 'pincer grasp'.
First Steps
Approaching the first birthday, babies are often standing, 'cruising' along furniture, and may even be taking their first independent steps.
The Toddler Transition
Your baby is now a toddler! This stage is marked by growing independence, improved motor skills, and the beginning of more complex communication.
Language Explosion
Between 18 months and two years, many children experience a 'language explosion' and become much more interested in playing with other children.
The Preschool Years
This is a time of immense social and emotional growth as children begin to understand their own feelings and the feelings of others.
A Note on Milestones
These milestones are intended as a general guide. It is important to remember that all babies are unique and reach milestones at their own time. If you have any concerns about your baby's development, please consult with your pediatrician.
